The College of Chinese Physical Culture has received £300K of funding from v, the youth volunteering charity, to create a further 164 volunteering opportunities for young people aged 16 - 25 years.
'vcashpoint' is a funding initiative for young people who want to set up a voluntary project in their own community. By providing grants of up to £2500, vcashpoint can help young people turn their ideas for voluntary projects into reality. Essential Energy is a project funded by v, an independent charity which was launched in May 2006 to champion youth volunteering in England. Its aim is to inspire a million more young people aged 16-25 to volunteer. To do this, v is working to increase the quantity, quality and diversity of volunteering opportunities available to young people.

If you are aged 16-25, and have a passion for Chinese martial arts or you
would love to learn how they do those amazing movements in Wushu
movies like Hero or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon then the Essential
Energy project is offering you the chance to learn the ancient
arts of Lishi (pronounced Lee Sher).
By attending a class local to where you live and showing dedication and commitment you may be invited to volunteer to help promote Lishi to other young people and have a positive impact on your community and yourself! You will learn Chinese Yoga, Taichi, Wushu and Kungfu exercises to a level where you can lead beginners through simple movements.

Welcome to the Essential Energy website
Essential Energy is a project run by the College of Chinese Physical Culture.
Our aim is to stimulate, invigorate and energise the mind and body by
offering a range of courses that specialise in the ancient art of traditional
Chinese Wushu. Chinese Wushu involves a combination of both simple and
complex movement and dance with a core focus on inner strength, breathing
and energy (Qi)
How to get involved
The Essential Energy campaign is spread nationwide and if you are aged
between 16 and 25 you could qualify for a concessionary place. Please click HERE
